Earth Day Cleanup and Festival April 20

Plastic Free Hawai‘i will host a beach cleanup on Saturday, April 20 from 9:30 to 11:30am in Kailua with many community partners. Volunteers can make their way to one of three sign-in stations: Kailua Beach Park across from Buzz’s, Kalama Beach Park, or the Kaiʻolena Drive beach access in Lanikai. Volunteers should bring a sifter, reusable gloves, hat, reusable water bottle, and sunscreen. The event is in partnership with Sustainable Coastlines Hawai‘i’s Earth Day Cleanup -- happening across the Windward side -- and Music Festival. Activities will follow at Sea Life Park in Waimanalo with a $5 entrance fee for cleanup participants. Click here for details.

Kailua Aloha 'Āina Recycling Drive

March's Aloha 'Āina Recycling Drive in partnership with Schnitzer Steel will be at Kaelepulu Elementary School (530 Keolu Dr) from 9:00am - 12:00pm on Saturday, March 9th.

We will be collecting scrap metal, computers, printer cartridges, laptops, game systems, batteries, TVs, reusable clothing, household items, used cooking oil, paper, corrugated cardboard and HI-5 containers. 

Proceeds will benefit Kaelepulu Elementary School.

February Kailua Eco Night

We are pleased to announce the next Kailua community night -now Kailua Eco Nights! happening at Kailua Sailboards and Kayaks EcoLounge on Thursday, Feb.21, 6-8pm.

Join us and community partners for a great evening of food, community and education. Special guest speakers from DLNR, Division of Aquatic Resources will be present to discuss invasive species in Hawaii. Particular focus will be given to Japan Tsumani Debris and the current issues and efforts in Kaneohe Bay.
